Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of armed conflicts in the African Great Lakes sub-region. Over time, historical events such as conflicts and independence struggles have deeply shaped the culture and identity of the local populations. However, three decades ago, a tragic event occurred in Rwanda on April 7, 1994, following the assassination of President Juvénal Habyarimana. This sparked an ethnic conflict that led to a historic genocide and widespread regional destabilization. The effects of this impact continue to be felt today. Consequently, the greatest victim of this ongoing theater of war is the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

La présente étude s’assigne comme objectif d’analyser l’impact des conflits armés dans la sous-région des Grands Lacs africains.
Au fil du temps, les évènements historiques tels que les conflits et les luttes pour l’indépendance, ont profondément marqué la culture et l’identité des populations. Cependant, depuis trois décennies, un événement tragique survient au Rwanda le 7 avril 1994, à la suite de l’assassinat du président Juvénal Habyarimana, lequel donna naissance à un conflit ethnique qui entraîna un génocide historique et une déstabilisation régionale. Cet impact continue à produire ses effets. Ainsi, la plus grande victime de ce théâtre est la République Démocratique du Congo.
